When Was The Last Time You Looked At Ingredients On Your Toothpaste or Detergent?

Do you have a rash, a consistent sneeze, or runny nose that won’t seem to go away? Did you ever stop to think it could be caused by something toxic in your home, office or car?

We are exposed to so many toxic substances on a daily basis and we don’t even think about it. It has become our “way of life.” Usually, it is not until something happens to our health or a loved one’s health, that we will be forced to look around at some of the chemicals we come in contact with. It isn’t until then that we ask ourselves what we could do to improve the quality of our environments for ourselves, our families and even our pets.

When you start to notice these toxic chemicals all around you, you may be appalled.

For example: Why would we use a detergent on our dishes that has a warning label on it which reads: Caution: DANGEROUS FUMES FORM WHEN MIXED WITH OTHER PRODUCTS. Do not get in eyes, on skin or clothing. Do not breathe fumes. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

Then below that it reads: First Aid Treatment to call Poison Control among other choices.

Really, how can we be so oblivious to using such toxic products? Are we so conditioned to use what our Mom’s have always used, listen to commercials and ads in magazines or on television, just picking up what is the best seller in the store that we don’t think for ourselves anymore?

If you have not thought about this before I want to give you one more example. Some toothpastes on the back will read: Keep out of reach of children under 6 years of age. If more than used for brushing is accidently swallowed, get medical help or contact a poison control center right away.

Check the ingredients and warnings on your everyday products and share what you read. We have to rely on ourselves to do the research if we want to stay healthy. We have alternatives, they are out there. If you want to find some but don’t seem to have the time, contact me. I will be happy to help.
