Carbohydrates are sources of energy used by the body.  They are a group of substances containing carbon, oxygen and hydrogen in addition to the  sugars, fibers and starches.   A variety of carbohydrates are grains, fruits, vegetables and sugars.  Refined grains such as pasta, breads, cereals, cakes, crackers, and donuts,  have little or no nutritional value.


The ones recommended and those  best for you are unrefined carbohydrates.  They provide vitamins, minerals, fiber and have nutritional value for your health.
