Healthy salad dressings are those that are using full fat instead of fat-free or low-fat dressings and using the right kinds of oils.  There are certain kinds of fats your body needs just to function properly.

Choosing the wrong salad dressing can add hundreds of calories to a "low calorie" salad and negate many of the potential health benefits.  One of the best solutions is to make a quick vinaigrette at home using healthy oils.

Although all oils contain around 160 calories per tablespoon, some are more heart healthy than others:  olive, flaxseed, avocado.
