Perimenopause is the time period leading up to the menopause, during which some of the symptoms associated with menopause may be experienced.  The hormones have started changing (fluctuating) which is causing the symptoms and your periods may not be as regular as they once were.

Many women notice early "perimenopause symptoms" while still having a period.  Your hormone levels will start declining and fluctuating which is called perimenopause.  If you are like most women, this will occur while you are in your 40's.

Perimenopause symptoms include symptoms such as:

  • headaches

  • having an issue with remembering things (memory)

  • joint pain

  • moodiness or mood swings

  • lack of sex drive

  • vaginal dryness

  • having little or no energy

  • sleep issues - not being able to go to sleep or not being able stay asleep

  • weight gain

The better you can take care or yourself with consistent exercise and eating healthy foods, thinking healthy thoughts, surrounding yourself with positive people and creating a loving lifestyle, then the easier your time with "perimenopause symptoms" will be.

You can really do a lot to minimize your symptoms by adopting the following ideas:  eating a healthy diet with lots of fresh green veggies, some fruits, drinking enough water, eliminating processed and fast foods, sodas, do exercise (even if only walking), relaxing and reducing stress daily, doing a spiritual practice as affirmations, meditation, listening to something positive and inspiring daily, cut out the television and news shows, etc.
