I went to the Farmers Market in our little town last Saturday. Every year, I can’t wait for the Farmers Market to come.  It is only here from mid July until the end of September and always crowded since it is such a short season. I overheard some women debating about why should they be concerned about buying food that is organic.  One lady said, “What is the big deal?”  Another said, “I am healthy and have never really focused on the foods I eat or the ones I buy from the grocery store.” So, what is the big deal? How Do Foods That Advertise Low-Fat, Lite or Non-Fat Benefit You? Why should you avoid the food terms “lite” or “low-fat” in what you buy and eat?  Forty years ago, there was a campaign started to produce non-fat and low-fat versions of the traditional foods we eat.  And people think it means they can eat as much of this type of food as they desire to eat, after all, the fat has been reduced!
